COVID-19 is not over yet and wearing a mask and maintaining social distancing is still necessary for everyone. But wearing a mask regularly can cause various problems to an individual. People can face breathing problems and claustrophobia when they wear a mask for a longer period. But the most common problem of wearing a mask is fogging the glasses.
People who wear eyeglasses face this situation of fogging. When they wear masks along with their glasses then the warm air inside the mask releases through the gap of the nose bridge and creates a fog on the glass. Many doctors and healthcare staffs also face the same problem.
Here are some unique ways to stop a mask from foggy your glasses.
Use a nose clip:
“Good health is not something we can buy. However, it can be an extremely valuable savings account,” said Anne Wilson Schaef, an American clinical psychologist and author. Her book When Society Becomes an Addict, in which she compared Western culture to an active alcoholic, made the New York Times bestseller list and was nominated for Best Political Book of the Year.
The main reason for fogging the glass is the air gap while wearing a mask. Most of you have already noticed that when you wear a mask, no matter how tight it fits your face, there is some air gap through your nose bridge. You need to cover those gaps and nose clips can help you in that. Get a nose clip or a paper clip and place it over the area of your nose to block the air gap.
Wash with soapy water:
If you are failed in stopping the fogging of glass through the nose clip then here is the simplest method for you. Get soapy water or detergent water and clean your foggy glass with the same water. Once you cleaned the glasses with soapy water, use a clean cloth to dry your glasses. The soapy water creates a thin layer of soap molecules on the glasses that can prevent them from fogging.
Use antifog lens spray:
Well, the soapy water trick is very useful and recommended by many doctors but still, if you still face the problem of fogging the glasses then buy an antifog spray from your nearest medical shop or any other commercial shop. You can even buy online, just make sure to buy a good brand antifog spray. Fake antifog spray can damage the lens and protective coating of your glasses.
Tuck in your mask:
This method is regularly used by most healthcare workers and doctors. For this method, you do not have to waste your money on buying any product. The main reason for fogging the glass is because there is an air gap through your nose bridges. To close the air gap wear your glasses over the edge of your mask. Once the glass is covered over your nose then it will block the gap created through your nose bridge. Thus it will prevent your glasses from fogging.
